"We want to give Bayern Munich fans a chance to become part of this unique project. From the Easter Islands to Korea, from Cape Horn to the Arctic Circle, any declaration of affection towards FC Bayern Munich is welcome," says project manager and director Niels Eixler.
FC Bayern Munich, Germany's most decorated football club, started their international success story on May 31, 1967, winning the European Cup Winners Cup. To mark this 50-year anniversary event, the "Kick off!" editorial team will be producing a documentary on the legendary club, entitled "The  Mia san Mia Phenomenon." The film will feature video messages from around the globe.
The film will not only feature stars of the current team (such as Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller and coach Carlo Ancelotti) but also big names from the past (including Franz Roth, Giovanne Elber, Oliver Kahn, Sammy Kuffour). Celebrity fans such as Paul Kalkbrenner and Javier Marias will also be highlighted in the film, as will the club's global fan community.

"We want to examine the phenomenon that is Bayern Munich from a different perspective: What do people from around the world think about Germany's most successful football club? Why is this club so polarizing with fans? You either love them or hate them," explains the head of "Kick off!" Matthias Frickel.

Everyone who's interested can participate in the project right away. DW's social media channels are open for submissions; please submit your video messages at facebook.com/dw.kickoff and DWFCBayern@gmail.com.

"The Mia-san-Mia Phenomenon" is scheduled to have its global premiere on June 5, 2017. It will be broadcast in English, German, Spanish and Arabic. "In an ideal scenario this will be just in time after FC Bayern's sixth Champions League title," Eixler predicts.
