Die Bienenretter app has been designed to minimize data. The information gathered during the game is evaluated anonymously and treated as stand-alone data.
For the statistical analysis of app usage, data is gathered on app launch frequency, content use, exits and updates. Game progress is automatically saved. This information is gathered in individual, unlinked processes; data is evaluated without associating it with individual users. The IP addresses of people who use Deutsche Welle apps will be used in an anonymous form. This anonymity has been contractually established and outsourced to a specialized contractor. DW never uses location information and device identification (UDID). Whenever personal data is collected and processed by DW, the app provides a separate statement and privacy notice.
Deutsche Welle has no control over the nature of data collected, stored and analyzed by network providers and operating system manufacturers.
The app logs errors and for this reason, IP addresses and technical data are saved. These log files are stored for a maximum of 30 days, but are never used to evaluate personal use patterns. This data is used for troubleshooting and game optimization.
