Crowds have gathered in Caracas after Juan Guaido called on citizens and the military to rise up against President Nicolas Maduro. Speaking with DW, the opposition leader said the "armed forces are not with Maduro."
More than 20 foreign ministers from Latin America and the Caribbean have converged on Berlin, albeit without Venezuelan representation. Germany is trying to revitalize lagging diplomatic and trade ties with the region.
Interim President Juan Guaido has vowed to return to Venezuela this week, but he will make a stop in Brazil first. Brazil's president has supported Guaido and encouraged the flow of aid into Venezuela.
