Even growing up in Warsaw, Robert Lewandowski was a Dortmund fan. He was the top scorer in Poland's third division, before moving up to become the top scorer in the second division the next season.
He played with Lech Poznan in Poland's first division, going on to win the cup, the championship and the league's golden boot. In 2010, he signed a four-year contract with Dortmund. In his first season, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the Schalke derby. This season he scored 22 times, helping Dortmund win their second title.
This summer he will be playing for the Polish national side, along with Dortmund teammates Jakub Blaszczykowsk and Lukasz Piszczek. But first, he wants to help Dortmund get their first-ever double — the league title and the German Cup.
