Cataplana with seafood and fish

We travel to the classy Camané Restaurant in Portugal's Algarve for a local specialty!


3 large onions
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 tomato
2 handfuls of mussels
3 handfuls of monkfish
1-2 handfuls of fresh prawns
olive oil

Cut the onions, tomatoes and peppers into rings. Put some of the mussels on the bottom of the Cataplana, then add a layer of onions, then one of tomatoes and one of peppers. Place the monkfish and the mussels on top. Then add further vegetable layers, using the rest of the onions, tomatoes and peppers. Garnish with the prawns. Season with a pinch of sea salt, a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and ketchup. The dish is cooked on the stove for15 minutes. Serve with a good red wine.
