Boating to the Baltic

The northeastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is home to one of the largest pristine river landscapes in Western Europe. The Peene Valley is in the middle of a huge area of fenland. The river has countless branches. Here vacationers can canoe for days on their way to the Baltic Sea, passing by former Viking settlements and charming Hanseatic towns such as Anklam.
