Newly promoted Kaiserslautern stunned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich with two goals in 60 seconds to win 2-0 on Friday. Kaiserslautern now go top of the table, having earned six points from two games. Last Saturday they beat Cologne 3-1.

The hosts were playing in front of a sell-out crowd of 49,780 spectators. Croatian midfielder Ivo Ilicevic struck a brilliant shot into the net from 20 meters in the 36th minute. Ilicevic then set up his teammate Srdan Lakic to score just a minute later.

"We wanted to put in a good performance and match Bayern. I think we deserved to win," Ilicevic said.

The midfielder was sent off in second half injury time after a second yellow card, but it did little to spoil Kaiserslautern's night. Bayern had a number of chances in the second half, but failed to convert them.

There are six Bundesliga matches on Saturday, including Schalke against Hanover and Werder Bremen versus Cologne.
