As hundreds of millions of people travel to celebrate the Lunar New Year with relatives, Chinese authorities warn against traveling to and from the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak began.
Pakistani students are demanding their government evacuate them from China's coronavirus epicenter of Wuhan. They accuse Islamabad of betraying them to keep up good ties with Beijing. DW spoke to some of the students.
The French health minister has reported the first death from COVID-19 in Europe. It is thought to be the first death from the virus outside of Asia.
The number of deaths and confirmed cases, though continuing to increase, is rising at a slower rate for the third day in a row. China's central bank is taking measures to stem the outbreak by disinfecting money.
Despite numbers dropping, the WHO has cautioned that the outbreak still "has the potential to grow." The UN agency has called for millions of dollars in funding to assist countries in preparing for more outbreaks.
