APOS 2019: DW Premium brings in new partners from China and Thailand

On-demand documentaries are a big hit all over the world, and new content from DW, featuring food, fashion, travel and lifestyle, has attracted high-level partnerships at Asia's biggest media summit.

At APOS 2019 in April, DW presented its catalogue of documentary entertainment to content partners from across Asia. DW Premium provides partners with exclusive content that is handpicked by a DW editorial team.

The DW Premium Library offers content for streaming and rebroadcasting in several languages, with unique series that provide a different twist to factual entertainment.

APOS is an annual summit held in Bali gathering the biggest brands in media and entertainment from around the world. China and Thailand took focus at this year's APOS, and DW is partnering with major video content providers in both countries with a catalogue of premium content.

The Chinese documentary video streaming website Tencent Video has over 900 million monthly users and 89 million subscribers.  Short videos for online and on-demand are an important part of their content strategy. Tencent Video recently acquired five documentary series from the DW Premium catalogue: Bird's Eye, Dresscode, World of Economics Explained and Do It Yourself and Try This!

Baidu Hao Kan, a new, short video app in China, has also acquired these titles from DW premium. 640 million monthly active users.

This streamlined and entertaining content can be implemented on a variety of platforms, and is a big hit with audiences around the world.

In Thailand, LIVE TV has acquired the DW Premium titles Do it yourself, Going Green, Going Wild and Now You Know.

As Thailand's leading online TV service, Line TV offers quality TV re-run and original content that audiences can watch online anywhere, anytime, all for free. The service's content lineup includes TV drama and entertainment, variety shows, and original series.

With content from DW Premium, partners can take advantage of a variety of attractive and entertaining topics that can help expand programming line-ups on new on-demand platforms.

If you were unable to catch DW at APOS 2019, you can get in touch with a DW distribution representative and discuss your options for adding DW's documentary content to your channel or platform.
