For me the G8 is an alliance of the world’s largest imperialistic countries, trying to govern the world according to its own rules. On the one hand the participation of Russia in this forum is meaningful, since it gives it a voice in world decisions. On the other hand, some other countries, for example United States, have previously hinted at excluding Russia from the G8, which suggests that we are not taken seriously at the G8.

When Russia was still the Soviet Union, and not a member of the G8 and other imperialistic international organizations, its word was very influential. Now that it is a member of the G8, it has to play according its imperialistic rules. Russia needs to get back the status it had while it was the Soviet Union when it was stronger than all the others.
