James Albert is the India advisor for the Society for Threatened Peoples. He has written several reports on the situation of ethnic and religious minorities in India, like the riots against indigenous Christians in Orissa and displacement of Adivasi (indigenous peoples in India) in the Narmada valley due to construction of dams. He has specialized on the effects of uranium mining and processing on the Adivasi communities in the state of Jharkhand.
