A picture taken on March 2, 2012 shows Ethiopian troops standing on an army tank at an air base in the city of Baido, which was taken over from Shebab rebels on February 22. Truckloads of Ethiopian and Somali troops on February 22 captured the strategic Somali city of Baidoa from Al-Qaeda-allied Shebab insurgents, who vowed to avenge their biggest loss in several months. Baidoa, 250 kilometres (155 miles) northwest of the capital Mogadishu, was the seat of Somalia's transitional parliament until the hardline Shebab captured it in 2009. Ethiopia says it is in the country to support Somalia?s transitional government to stamp out Shebab insurgents, but says it does not plan to remain in the country for the long term.
