照片中的“沉没世界”
南非摄影师孟德尔(Gideon Mendel)多年以来关注气候变化。他的照片刻画了全球各地的洪水灾民。法兰克福名为“极端.环境”的展览上可以看到他的摄影作品。
德阿劳约(2015年)
这是在巴西里奥布朗,德阿劳约(Joao Pereira de Araujo)站在自家门口,2015年3月一场洪水过后,阿卡河水位上涨,最高纪录达到18.4米。大约10万住户受到洪灾影响。影师孟德尔的作品描绘了世界各地的洪水灾民,呼吁外界关注他们的命运。法兰克福今年开幕的名为“极端.环境”的三年展上,他的作品也参与了展出。
弗朗西斯卡 (2015年)
2007年以来,孟德尔关注世界各地因气候变化而受到的影响,并创作了摄影项目《沉没的世界》(Drowning World)。他说过,洪水侵袭家园后,人们原来的生活模式完全被改变。名字叫做弗朗西斯卡(Francisca dos Santos)的妇人坐在自家门外。照片也摄于2015年巴西里奥布朗。
约翰·杰克逊的家(2007年)
非洲出生、居住在伦敦的摄影记者孟德尔2007年在约克郡用镜头记录了一场洪灾,这也开启了他系列项目《沉没的世界》。在德国北部兹因斯特的系列展览上,他向来访者提出问题:“当年我的孩子还小,想到他们,两个问题总是会困扰我:我们生活在一个什么样的世界?2050年的时候,地球又会变成什么模样?”
阿米蒂奇的家(1) (2014年)
孟德尔的创作向人们展示,尽管生活和环境迥然不同,灾难面前,无论哪里的民众都一样的脆弱。这幅作品是孟德尔2014年2月记录英国索麦塞特(Somerset)洪灾系列作品中的一个,是在阿米蒂奇(Shirley Armitage)家中发现的一张照片。孟德尔创作的另外一个系列“水印"(Watermarks),记录的是被洪水浸泡坏的私家照片。
阿卜杜勒·拉希德的家(2014年)
孟德尔2014年拍摄下印度人阿卜杜勒·拉希德家里的一张照片。洪水侵袭了拉希德的家乡喀什米尔(Kashmir)。这位摄影师说:“洪水毁了这些珍贵的照片,令人震惊的破坏力产生的美感令我着迷。”
亚伯拉罕 (2012年)
这是孟德尔自己最喜欢的一幅作品:尼日利亚面包师亚伯拉罕(Florence Abraham)。亚伯拉罕本有一家有50名员工的面包房,2012年的一场大水让他失去了一切。
