Waandamanaji mitaani dhidi ya katiba mpya

Makundi hayo ya vyama vya Kiislamu yanatupilia mbali tuhuma za wapinzani kuwa rasmu hiyo ya katiba ni chachu ya mgawanyiko zaidi katika taifa hilo kubwa la Kiarabu.

Upigaji kura umeanza leo katika mswada wa katiba ulioligawa taifa hilo, ambapo mzozo huo umekuwa kati ya waungaji mkono wa makundi ya Kiislamu yanayomuunga mkono rais Mohamed Mursi dhidi ya waliberali, wale wanaotaka kutenganishwa kwa dini na serikali pamoja na Wakristo katika mapambano ambayo mara kwa mara yamesababisha umwagikaji wa damu mjini Cairo pamoja na miji mingine.

Maandamano ambayo yamekuwa na vurugu

Upinzani unasema kuwa katiba hiyo inaelemea zaidi katika matakwa ya Kiislamu na inakanyaga haki za wachache. Waungaji mkono wa Mursi wanasema katiba hiyo inahitajika iwapo maendeleo yatafikiwa kuelekea demokrasia karibu miaka miwili baada ya kuanguka kwa utawala wa kijeshi wa Hosni Mubarak.

Magari kadha yamechomwa moto na mhubiri mmoja wa dini ya Kiislamu ambaye alitoa wito kwa watu kupiga kura ya ndio kwa katiba hiyo alikwama ndani ya msikiti baada ya kuzingirwa na wafuasi wa upinzani ambao walikuwa na hasira.

Katika mji mkuu , Cairo, pande zote mbili zilifanya juhudi za wastani za mwisho kuwashawishi waungaji wao mkono.

Mapambano mjini Alexandria baina ya waandamanaji

Makundi ya waungaji mkono vyama vya Kiislamu yakipunga bendera , yalijikusanya kwa amani katika msikiti mmoja mkubwa , baadhi wakiimba , "Uislamu, Uislamu" na "Tumekuja hapa kusema "NDIO", kwa katiba".

Waungaji mkono wa upinzani , ambao wametakiwa kupiga kura ya "HAPANA", na viongozi wao, walijikusanya nje ya ikulu ya Misri mjini Cairo.

Jengo hilo linaendelea kuzingirwa na polisi, wanajeshi na vifaru vya jeshi baada ya mapambano ya mitaani kusababisha kiasi ya watu wanane kuuwawa mapema mwezi huu katika ghasia zilizosababishwa na uamuzi wa rais Mursi kujipa madaraka makubwa ili kuweza kupitishwa kwa rasmu ya katiba mpya.

Wakati giza linaanza kutanda , kulionekana tu watu ambao walikuwa wakiangalia hali ya mambo pamoja na wachuuzi katika eneo hilo badala ya waandamanaji.

Mursi ashambuliwa

Mwanamke mmoja alikuwa akiliambia kundi la watu kupitia kipaza sauti, akitoa matusi kwa Mursi, lakini wengi wa watu waliokuwa wakimsikiliza hawakuonekana kujali anayosema na kuendelea kunywa chai ama kupiga picha mbele ya kifaru.

"Simpendi Mursi," amesema Moustafa Ahmed , mwenye umri wa miaka 25, na mwalimu. "Lakini sijaamua jinsi nitakavyopiga kura , kwa hiyo nimeamua kuja hapa kusikiliza waandamanaji na kuzungumza nao kwa mara ya mwisho."
