Berlim em miniatura
Oito séculos da história berlinense podem ser vistos no mundo em miniatura na torre de televisão da praça Alexanderplatz em Berlim.
A quadriga de perto
Cenários na proporção de 1:24 reproduzem fatos históricos e anedotas em torno da capital alemã, desde a Idade Média até os dias atuais. Uma das atrações da cidade em miniatura Little Big City, que fica junto à torre de televisão na praça Alexanderplatz, é a quadriga do Portão de Brandemburgo.
Marlene, Albert e o "velho Fritz"
O mundo em miniatura se ocupa não só de grandes momentos da história de Berlim, mas também de suas personalidades famosas. Exemplos são o rei da Prússia Frederico, o Grande, a atriz e cantora Marlene Dietrich, que nasceu e foi enterrada na cidade, e o Nobel de Física Albert Einstein, que viveu por 18 anos em Berlim, até a ascensão dos nazistas ao poder.
Anos dourados
Os dourados anos 1920 foram uma época deslumbrante em Berlim. Se de um lado, havia depressão e desemprego; de outro, luxo e glamour da classe rica chamavam a atenção. Já naquela época, os repórteres fotográficos tinham bastante trabalho.
Incêndio do Reichstag
No minimundo sobre Berlim não poderia faltar o emblemático incêndio do Reichstag, em 1933. O incêndio é considerado um fato crucial para o estabelecimento da Alemanha nazista.
Cidade dividida
Há muitas representações do pós-guerra, como o famoso pronunciamento do então presidente dos Estados Unidos, John F. Kennedy, em 1963, diante da prefeitura do bairro Schöneberg. Em plena Guerra Fria e em vista da Berlim dividida, ele disse, em alemão: "Ich bin ein Berliner" (Eu sou um berlinense!).
Lanchonete famosa
Também não poderia faltar uma representação da famosa lanchonete Konnopke’s Imbiss, na confluência das ruas Schönhauser Allee e Eberswalder Straße. Ela é considerada a primeira na então ainda Berlim Oriental a servir, em 1960, a famosa salsicha currywurst. A lanchonete ainda existe, no mesmo local.
As noites em Kreuzberg
Um bairro lendário no oeste de Berlim é Kreuzberg. Em volta da praça Heinrichplatz reuniam-se boêmios nos anos 1980. Entre os muitos clubes e bares deste bairro, está o SO 36, à esquerda na foto. Na realidade, no entanto, ele não fica ali, e sim virando a esquina, na rua Oranienstraße.
Margot e Erich Honecker
Até sua renúncia em 1989, Erich Honecker foi um dos mais poderosos políticos da então Alemanha Oriental. Na foto, o boneco dele e da esposa, Margot. Ao fundo, a réplica do Palácio da República, local onde funcionava a Câmara do Povo. Por causa dos exageros na iluminação, também era chamado "loja dos lustres de Honecker". O prédio foi destruído em 2008.
Quase como na vida real
Uma peculiaridade das miniaturas sobre a história de Berlim é que muitos berlinenses emprestaram suas histórias e a própria fisionomia para as réplicas. É o caso de Sunny Müller, que no dia 9 de novembro de 1989 foi com a mãe até o Portão de Brandemburgo, onde alguém as ajudou a subir no Muro.
Berlim em uma hora
A exposição Little Big City (pequena cidade grande) foi concebida de forma a que o visitante leve, em média, uma hora para ver tudo. Os prédios e as figuras feitos em uma impressora 3D são complementados por documentações sonoras e vídeos. A mostra é um bom programa para turistas, mas também para os moradores de Berlim.
