10 Tips Jadi Tamu Restoran Jerman
Jangan terjerembab seperti turis. Ikuti sepuluh tips berikut untuk mencegah kesalahan jika datang ke restoran Jerman. Tapi jangan lupa, ini hanya berlaku di restoran biasa. Restoran bintang lima punya aturan sendiri.
Cari Tempat Duduk Sendiri
Di restoran Jerman tamu biasanya tidak disambut pelayan yang tersenyum di pintu sambil memegang buku menu. Anda juga tidak diantar ke meja yang dipilih spesial untuk Anda. Tamu bisa memilih tempat duduk sendiri. Di kafe kecil, bergabung dengan orang lain di satu meja bisa dilakukan. Jadi jangan kaget kalau ada orang tak dikenal yang tiba-tiba duduk di seberang Anda. Apalagi kalau Anda sendirian.
Berbagi Buku Menu
Karena tidak diantar ke meja, tidak ada juga pelayan yang memberikan buku menu. Biasanya di meja sudah ada satu atau dua buku menu. Selain itu, buku menu jumlahnya tidak sebanyak kursi. Jadi jika Anda makan bersama teman, buku menu harus dipakai bersama.

Jangan harap ada pelayan yang langsung mendatangi, segera setelah Anda duduk. Mungkin Anda harus melihat-lihat ke sekeliling, sampai bisa adakan kontak mata dengan seseorang yang mengenakan celemek. Kemudian Anda harus lambaikan tangan ke orang itu. Setelah ia datang baru pesan makanan. Kadang bukan satu pelayan saja yang bertugas, jadi yang hidangkan makanan dan yang membersihkan meja bisa lain.
Minum Dulu di Rumah

Anda sudah selesai makan setengah jam lalu, tapi piring Anda masih tetap ada di meja? Mungkin Anda tidak berbicara bahasa garpu. Menempatkan peralatan makan pada posisi jam tiga atau jam empat adalah isyarat bagi pelayan, bahwa Anda sudah selesai makan. Orang itu bertugas membersihkan toilet, dan mengharapkan uang kecil dari tamu, tidak peduli semahal apa makanan yang Anda pesan. Jadi jangan lupa membawa uang logam 50 sen sebelum meninggalkan meja.
"Bagaimana Makanan Anda?"
Pelayan Jerman dilatih untuk bertanya apa Anda puas dengan makanan Anda, jika mereka merapihkan meja.
