Astronauts are scientists, engineers - but they're also superstars. Europe's got seven. Who's your favorite?
Germany's first Space Station Commander Alexander Gerst told Deutsche Welle that to him, reaching out to young students and kids is the most important part of his "Horizons" mission.
Nicola Baumann and Insa Thiele-Eich are the winners of the "Die Astronautin" competition. One of them will be the first German woman in space - if the initiative can scrape together 40 million euros in funding.
50 years after the last moon landing, astronauts are due to head there again. In NASA's new ORION space ship. The European Space Agency is involved too - producing the service module, ESM. It will house everything necessary for the mission - engines, fuel, gas, water and oxygen for the astronauts. It's due to be delivered in 2018.
