Germany's landscapes are as beautiful as they are diverse, but there is one feature that holds a particular place in the country's collective heart. And that is the forest. It has featured in countless stories, poems, operas and was appropriated by the Nazis as a symbol of national identity. Tamsin Walker went into the woods to find out more.
