France is in election mode with a presidential vote coming up in one month's time. That means public political debate is in full swing. "Les intellectuels," or intellectuals, have long set the agenda for political debate in France. But since the intellectual glory years of left-leaning giants like Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus, France's intellectuals have moved sharply to the right.
