The Brazilian Amazonian city of Manaus has seen an astonishing rise in homicides over the last ten years or so, fuelled by increasing demand for cocaine in Brazil and Europe. The murder rate there in 2014 was four times that of Brazil largest city, Sao Paulo. Sam Cowie travelled to Manaus to meet those most affected by the crisis.
