World in Progress: The price of education

In Senegal, many families can't afford to send their children to a government-run school, because they can't pay for books, binders and pens. Some of them opt to send them to Quran schools instead where they learn Arabic and study the Quran. But that's it. But some of these schools have opened up and are now teaching them how to speak French and Math.
