World in Progress: Special edition - Bluegrass

Anke Rasper / Andreas Horchler July 20, 2016

Bluegrass music, a traditional form of American folk music played with fiddle, mandoline and banjos still thrives in the Appalachia region, which also has a reputation as being America's poorhouse. Outsiders have labeled the people here 'hillbillies', sterotyping them as backwards. But there are also some very gifted musicians. Producer: Anke Rasper Reporter: Andreas Horchler
