World in Progress: Calls for 48-hour truce in Syria

The UN has urged all warring parties in Aleppo to agree to a 48-hour truce to allow for the delivery of desperately needed aid. The UN humanitarian chief Stephen O'Brien warned if they did not act now, the world risked seeing a "humanitarian catastrophe unparalleled in the over five years of bloodshed." Not a single aid convoy has reached the besieged areas in over a month, according to the UN.
