Hurricanes need horizontal and vertical movement to develop. Both are possible on other planets. There are even storms with liquids other than just water, such as methane. Metals are not well suited to cause storms.
One of the smallest planets in our solar system is passing across the sun's face. This is a rare event to observe: it only happens every thirteen to fourteen years on average.
