In the latest edition of eco@africa: We head to South Africa to find out how man’s best friend is helping to protect endangered species like the geometric tortoise in one of the most biodiverse habitats on earth.

We investigate how eco-friendly German technology can help to preserve vital medicines in places with no electricity supply, and offer a fast ride on electric skateboards. And in Uganda, how solar power can boost business for Kampala’s street traders.

In South Sudan we face a stark reminder of the impacts of climate change, as conflict is fueled by poor harvests.

And this week’s eco hero is a scientist working to protect endangered marine biodiversity from invasive species in Turkey’s Gökova Bay. Plus, why do we need such a rich mix of species anyway? Tune in to find out.
