Brazil is the fourth-largest car market in the world, but like many emerging economies, it follows its own trends. VW engineers predicted this development in the 1970s and designed a car that meets Brazlian needs.
Volkswagen Mexico is the biggest employer in the Mexican town of Puebla, 100 km south of Mexico City. VW opened its plant there in 1964, and has since invested billions in its expansion.
The Daimler factory in East London, South Africa was founded in 1958. It’s the biggest employer in the city, with a staff of almost 2,500. The factory has left its stamp on the town and its people.
