Proxima b is the closest planet to our solar system, some four light years away. Researchers believe it could support life, and are planning to send laser-powered mini probes there, travelling at a speed of 220 million kilometers per hour.
An Internet investor has enlisted Stephen Hawking and Mark Zuckerberg in his search for alien life. Breakthrough Starshot involves sending a swarm of tiny spaceships to the nearest star outside our solar system.
