Images from an underwater robot showed large deposits of what is thought to be melted nuclear fuel at the bottom of a damaged reactor at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant. If confirmed, it would mark a major milestone.
Six years after it suffered a nuclear meltdown, Fukushima appears to have returned to a semblance of normalcy. But there is still a long way to go in terms of cleaning up the site. Martin Fritz reports.
The Japanese nuclear plant has recorded the highest radiation level since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The findings are likely to delay attempts to dismantle the plant and will likely increase decommissioning costs.
