Peru's Congress has voted overwhelmingly to start President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's impeachment process over allegations that he received bribes from a Brazilian construction company. Kuczynski has denied any wrongdoing.
A court in Papua New Guinea has ruled that asylum seekers held in a detention center on Manus Island can seek compensation. Human rights groups have described living conditions in the camp as appalling.
President Doris Leuthard has inaugurated the Stoos funicular railway line, the steepest in the world. Leuthard, who was part of the group that took the maiden Stoosbahn voyage Friday, described the ride as a "thrill."
