The world record holder will only race in the 100 meter events on his final day as a professional sprinter. Ahead of his last appearance at the London World Championships Usain Bolt announced that he will not defend his 200m world title.
Usain Bolt was hoping to sign off his glittering career with a final gold medal, but the race didn't go to script. The Jamaican pulled up injured on the home straight, with Britain steaming through to claim gold.
Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt is set to run his final individual race on Saturday at the IAAF World Championships in London. Among those he will be competing against is Germany's Julian Reus.
The curtain came down on Bolt's individual athletics career, but there was a twist in the tale at London's Olympic Stadium. Former doper Justin Gatlin prevailed and won his third gold medal at the World Championships.
Usain Bolt's final race ended in defeat, with Gatlin claiming Gold in the 100m at the World Championships. But the result couldn’t dampen the atmosphere as the London crowd said goodbye to history's greatest sprinter.
