Training for climate reporters

Ten journalists from the Pacific island region will get the unique chance to participate in a DW Akademie workshop during UN climate conference taking place in Bonn, Germany.

As part of a journalism competition the ten winning journalists will receive, besides the return air tickets from their country to Bonn, daily subsistence, accreditation to COP23, a media training package from the DW Akademie. The training package includes an e-forum to discuss topics around climate change with experts before the COP 23. During the conference, taking place from November 6th until November 17th, the participants will explore the variety of topics - beyond the classic conference coverage. The journalists will get feedback from the trainers during each phase (research, production, publication). Moreover, the journalistic products of the participants that will be produced at COP23 will feature on a dedicated DW Akademie web page, and on the UNFCCC website.

The project has been funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
