US Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agree that the threat of force shouldn't be off the table in Syria.
According to Israel's military, it struck the Syrian anti-aircraft battery after an Israeli aircraft was targeted over Lebanon. Israel has carried out dozens of attacks on suspected arms shipments to Hezbollah.
The Syrian government has said Israel targeted a military facility in Masyaf, killing at least two people. The target is believed to have been a Syrian government agency branch responsible for producing chemical weapons.
Benjamin Netanyahu accuses Iran of filling the void left by the Islamic State in Syria. Israel's prime minister has expressed concern that de-escalation zones brokered by Moscow pose a security threat.
Israeli defense officials have said the Syrian regime still has up to three tons of chemical weapons. The international community has blamed the Syrian military for the gas attack in Idlib that killed some 90 people.
