Freedom of the press is seriously under threat in Eastern Europe. Europeans like to see themselves as torchbearers of democratic values, but DW's Volker Wagener says the reality tells a different story.
The United States now ranks 45th out of the 180 countries for press freedom, according to the latest ranking compiled by Reporters Without Borders. US President Donald Trump's ‘media bashing’ is blamed for the latest slide. Paul Farhi from the Washington Post spoke to DW’s Brent Goff about the state of the American media.
