The cruise industry is growing annually by around 10 percent. Many cruise ships are more than 25 years old and have to be replaced with new ones. It means good prospects for the shipyards that build such vessels.
The German Meyer Werft in Papenburg and the shipyard in Turku, Finland, used to be competitors. But since 2014, the Meyer family has owned the Turku shipyard and has turned things around for all workers.
