The French and British foreign ministers are continuing their efforts to find a diplomatic solution for the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. But David Milliband and Bernard Kouchner did not promise any troop enforcements. Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in the area is deepening. +++ LM-REIN +++ Over just the last few days, up to a quarter million people have fled inter-ethnic fighting around the city of Goma, near the border with Rwanda. The origin of the ongoing conflict is the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Tutsi rebels say they're defending the people of the Congolese province of North Kivu against atrocities committed by government forces and a Rwandan Hutu rebel group. +++ LM-RAUS +++ +++ SYN.MAZ +++
