The EU's new on-line cultural portal Europeana - je 20.11.2008 18

It's being billed as offering Europeans a journey through time and across borders. And a few hours after it was launched, the EU's new on-line cultural portal - called Europeana - crashed due to the sheer volume of traffic to the site. The portal brings together - for the first time - major cultural items from across the continent.
