What is it like to grow up as the child of a ruthless ruler who wields absolute power and is feared throughout his country – for example, as the son of Uganda’s Idi Amin or daughter of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet?

Alina Fernández saw her father Fidel Castro as an intelligent narcissist and rebelled against him, ultimately fleeing from Cuba for good. Jaffar Amin is seeking reconciliation with the victims of his father Idi Amin. Bettina Goering, grandniece of the Nazi war criminal Hermann Goering, knows she can only survive if she forgives the unforgivable. Yet Lucía Pinochet sees a caring person behind her father’s brutality. This two-part documentary gives an intimate insight into the lives of the children of dictators.
