The cash-for-clunkers car trading program in Germany grinds to a halt

The tank is empty! Here in Germany the cash-for-clunkers car scrappage incentive came to an end on Wedesday. The German government has forked out 5- Bbillion euros to persuade drivers to trade-in their old cars for new ones. It has been a big hit with motorists, as well as the makers of smaller, fuel-efficient cars.
