The 77 Percent: Large family dependency

Suuk, MaxwellJanuary 23, 2018

In Ghana, in 2016 the dependency ratio was measured at 66.7 %; higher than many other African countries. The trickle down effect of having more dependents than producers in a society is the huge pressure placed on the few members of an extended family who manage to get a job. This is blocking young people from trying for a dream job, because they have to work several jobs to make ends meet.
