Talking Germany presenter Peter Craven talks to Stefanie Kloß about charity, language and her love of music. We talk about the social engagement of Silbermond and their fans and the anticipation surrounding their coming tour. Peter Craven also finds out well-acquainted Stefanie Kloß is with the culture and language of the Sorbs, an ethnic minority that live in the region of Lausitz, where Kloß grew up.

Short Biography

Frontwoman Stefanie Kloß was born in 1984 in Bautzen, a small town in Saxony. Through a musical project in a youth center she met her fellow band members. That was 1998. Since then she's been making music with Andreas Nowak and brothers Thomas and Johannes Stolle. They grew up, went to school and moved to Berlin together. Together, they developed musically from a cover band singing English language songs to an extremely successful German language pop group. They've received seven Echos, an MTV Europe Award and numerous other prizes. Their fourth album, 'Heaven open' was released in March 2012. In May Silbermond start a German and European tour.
