A "color party" turned deadly on Saturday when multi-colored corn starch powder ignited at the Color Play Asia in Taiwan's Formosa Fun Coast water park outside of the capital Taipei.

Student Liu Chih-wei, age 19, died on Thursday after having nearly his entire body was burned.

"Liu died this morning. More than 95 percent of his skin was burned and his respiratory system damaged when he was admitted to [the] hospital," a doctor told reporters in the central city of Taichung, accord to AFP news agency.

"After emergency treatment his family did not want to see him suffering any more and decided to let him go," the doctor added.

Chih-wei became the second victim of the tragic incident at the Taiwanese water park.

Lee Pei-yun, age 20, died on Monday after receiving burns across 90 percent of her body.

Authorities have released three suspects on bail as prosecutors continue to investigate them on charges of negligence and undermining public safety.

Investigators are still looking into whether the fire was caused by the stage's lighting system or a lit cigarette.

According to AFP, the company that supplied the multi-colored corn starch powder warned the water park that the product was flammable.

More than 500 attendees were injured, with at least 200 in intensive care.
