Stavanger: the European capital of culture - euromaxx (english) 07.01.2008

Now every year the European Union designates a city or cities here as the European capital of culture. This year one of the cities is Stavanger in Norway. This port city in the south west of the country is better known as the oil capital of Norway and not for its cultural attractions. However this is about to change as Stavanger has promised over 150 events throughout the year including a Greek drama about the EU involving the entire community.
