Hi there and welcome to our New Year's edition - and once again here in the German capital, the new year started off with the proverbial bang of firecrackers and fireworks galore. In keeping with the nationwide tradition Germans sent an estimated 100 million euros worth of fireworks into the sky on Monday night - considerably more refined however were the proceedings at Berlin's State Opera and the neighbouring five-star Hotel de Rome...euromaxx got in on a New Year's Eve celebration that looked after all five senses.
