Spaces for civic engagement and free expression are shrinking in many parts of the world. Illiberal regimes use repression and propaganda to cement their power. In democracies, governments are curtailing civil liberties because of security concerns.
In this international panel civil society leaders will talk about the challenges facing freedom of the media (and also democracy in general) in their part of the world and discuss strategies to counter the shrinking spaces.
