Scientists from Sweden, the US and Turkey have won this year's Nobel Prize for Chemistry. The Nobel committee said their work into how cells repair damaged DNA had provided fundamental knowledge into how cells function.
The three scientists share this year's chemistry prize "for mechanistic studies of DNA repair." Their work helped contribute, among other things, towards new treatments for cancer.
