Russia to expel 60 diplomats, close US consulate
Lavrov invited North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Russia as Moscow seeks to reassert its influence in the region. The visit comes as Pyongyang engages in hectic diplomacy with Washington, Seoul and Beijing.
Russia has claimed the OPCW buried results from a Swiss lab probing the Skripal case that found a Western-developed nerve agent. It is the latest in a series of claims by Russia as it denies involvement in the poisoning.
Doctors in the UK released former double agent Sergei Skripal from hospital in Salisbury two months after he and his daughter were poisoned with a nerve agent. The 66-year-old had spent weeks in a coma.
Russia says it will expel foreign diplomats on the same scale as the number of Russian envoys who were expelled from other countries. US diplomats have until April 5 to leave the country.
