Nika Schottenhamel is a busy woman, especially during the annual Oktoberfest in Munich. Then she spends most of the day greeting other well-known personalities, because her family owns one of the oldest and biggest festival tents on the grounds. Nika also has her own catering company and designs dirndls, the traditional Bavarian dress. This April she took time out of her busy schedule to show us around Munich.

First she’ll take us to see clothes from her collection at Loden-Frey, a shop that sells traditional costumes. Then we’ll go to the court gardens of the "Residenz", formerly the city palace and home of Bavarian dukes, prince electors, and kings. Then it’s off to Prater Island. What was once a schnapps, wine, and vinegar factory is now a venue for cultural events. Nika Schottenhamel loves Prater Island and is often called upon to cater events there. We round off the day at the Blue Spa Bar in the Bayerischer Hof, luxury hotel that offers a fantastic panorama of the city.
