Police are boosting their presence at Christmas markets in the eastern state of Brandenburg after a bomb scare. Authorities have, however, said the market may not have been the package's target.
Potsdam's Christmas market was hurriedly cleared as the bomb squad disabled a suspicious package nearby. Police are trying to determine whether the object was a real explosive device or a dummy.
Police in Berlin have said that two bags of bullets found near a Christmas market in western Berlin had no link to terrorist activities. The munitions were uncovered in an underground car park.
