A 400-year-old painting believed to be by Italian master Caravaggio has been found in a house in France. The picture, which is exceptionally well preserved, is estimated to be worth 120 million euros.
At least two experts attribute a painting discovered in a French attic to the Italian Renaissance master Caravaggio. But other critics still have doubts about the spectacular canvas.
A painting that is still facing a heated attribution debate will be displayed alongside authenticated works in a Milanese museum. The painting will have a disclaimer below, noting the controversy.
