Y'akoto was born in Hamburg, and grew up in Africa. She calls her distinctive sound "Afro-Soul." She's already had two Top 20 albums, and we'll be talking to the singer about her new album "Mermaid Blues."

Ten great pop songs that feature an oboe

HIT: The Kelly Family - "Nanana"
This multigenerational folk group with Irish-American roots sold millions of records in the 1990s. After the family patriarch Daniel died in 2002, the band split into different sub-groups. But they've just released a new album called "We Got Love” – which promptly topped the charts in Germany.

TIP: Claire - "Friendly Fire"
Munich electro-pop outfit Claire have just put out their second album, called "Tides." The video for the track "Friendly Fire" portrays a mysterious disco romance involving two women.
